Eternal Summers shares video for Together or Alone at Noisey, US tour starts tomorrow

Together or Alone is the lead single from the upcoming fourth album Gold and Stone from Roanoke, VA based indie-rock trio ETERNAL SUMMERS. Video created and directed by Japhy Riddle.

You can read about the video at NOISEY who thinks the video is Fantastic Mr. Fox meets Tool - meets Eternal Summers? And on the song: "An angst, driving indie punk track punctuated with ethereal female vocals that will make you run directly toward the preorder for the LP which you can do via BandCamp, Kanine or PledgeMusic or iTunes and streaming.

MORE ABOUT THE VIDEO:
Together or Alone exemplifies Japhy Riddle’s signature style, using practical effects and found objects to create a world more like our own than we think. The inventive stop-motion animation takes place on two sets, contrasting the mossy textures of the forest floor with the vast quiet of space. The protagonist (who is made of doll parts and dried flowers) travels from endless night, curling trees, and shimmering gears to a bustling domain where he must assume a disguise to work amongst his peers. The tiny hero’s journey comments on our ritual practice of fitting in, suggesting that when the mask slips, so might our perception—as we find we’re more together than alone.

MORE ON “TOGETHER OR ALONE”:

“A sign of good things to come" STEREOGUM

“This record promises to be Eternal Summers’ most earnest release yet. What begins by sounding like a straightforward pop-punk song quickly and intelligently breaks into a somber banger, with vocalist Nicole Yun’s inquisitive, patiently demanding voice.” IMPOSE

“A breezy rocker that’s laced with distorted grit and includes some catchy group shouting” EXCLAIM

“More of the sunny power-pop sound we’ve come to love from them” KEXP

“Nicole Yun’s sun-kissed guitar lines and wispy vocals entwine for efficient beauty, capturing the serene nature of their name perhaps more than anything else in the Eternal Summers catalog” CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND
