Xray Eyeballs modeling Brooklyn Beer

January 31, 2012  |  Artists, Front, News, xray eyeballs

Here at Kanine Records we love beer. We love it so much we even brew our own called Doghouse Ale. Our best beer is our Black Lager. Because of that, it is exciting to learn that so do many of our bands. Check out OJ from Xray Eyeballs modeling some of Brooklyn Brewery’s fashion. We got the chance to go to their private tasting for their new Porter last night. Check it out as it is super yummy. Also remember that Xray Eyeballs have their sophomore album coming out Feb. 28, but you can get it early direct from our site here. The first 200 copies come with a Limited edition hand numbered screen print made by OJ himself.

Kanine Records gives good advice in the new issue of L Magazine. Bands take note.

January 24, 2012  |  Front, News

We got asked in the new issue of New York’s L Magazine for advice on making it as an indie rock band in 2012. Read on to what advice we gave. It may help you out in the near future.

“Make sure you are ready before you start playing out. The best thing to do is have your album completed, great photos, bio, artwork, image, an amazing and tight live show – basically the works. So when you come out of the gate, you come out slamming. Most labels/press/music tastemakers go see bands when they first come out. And if their live show sucks at the beginning, we dismiss them before they get a chance to develop. But to be honest, that is their fault. That is what practice spaces are for.”
