Here at Kanine Records we love beer. We love it so much we even brew our own called Doghouse Ale. Our best beer is our Black Lager. Because of that, it is exciting to learn that so do many of our bands. Check out OJ from Xray Eyeballs modeling some of Brooklyn Brewery’s fashion. We got the chance to go to their private tasting for their new Porter last night. Check it out as it is super yummy. Also remember that Xray Eyeballs have their sophomore album coming out Feb. 28, but you can get it early direct from our site here. The first 200 copies come with a Limited edition hand numbered screen print made by OJ himself.

Pitchfork premiered the second single “Faster Harder” from Royal Bath‘s upcoming album “Better Luck Next Life” out Feb. 7, 2012. Previously they premiered the first single “Darling Divine” here. That now gives you two chances to hear the greatness coming up from their new album. Don’t miss out as this album is assured to please all of your senses.

Chairlift sophomore album “Something” is out today on Kanine Records/Columbia in the US and Young Turks in the UK. Pick it up on cd, vinyl, or digital here. This time the band has gone for a big sound and made one super epic record. Check out the single “Met Before” as it got “Best New Track” on Pitchfork and its a personal favorite of ours.
We got asked in the new issue of New York’s L Magazine for advice on making it as an indie rock band in 2012. Read on to what advice we gave. It may help you out in the near future.
“Make sure you are ready before you start playing out. The best thing to do is have your album completed, great photos, bio, artwork, image, an amazing and tight live show – basically the works. So when you come out of the gate, you come out slamming. Most labels/press/music tastemakers go see bands when they first come out. And if their live show sucks at the beginning, we dismiss them before they get a chance to develop. But to be honest, that is their fault. That is what practice spaces are for.”
If you know anything about Kanine Records, you know that we love Dogs. And well so does one of our bands, Young Prisms. Steph from the band introduces us to Oliver, her little guy in her life.
