Hockey Dad, the Australian surf-rock duo of lifelong best friends Zach Stephenson and Billy Fleming, returned today with their infectious new single "Homely Feeling," their first new music since their 2016 debut album Boronia. The band wrote the track about struggling to stay sane while on the road: "We're always comfortable when we're back home. This one's for when you're surrounded by heaps of people and kinda freaking out. Whenever you're heaps off it and just wanna be back home."
Consequence of Sound premiered "Homely Feeling" today, saying, "a forceful, paranoid cut with a jagged chorus."
"Homely Feeling" is available now on Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music. The song will appear on Hockey Dad's second album Blend Inn, due out in 2018 on Kanine Records (US/Can), Famer & the Owl (AU/NZ), Lab Recs (EU). Watch this space for more details.
