Though she was raised in Orlando, Kaley Honeycutt has been a familiar face in the Boston music scene over the last few years. Having garnered local interest sharing stages with artists like Stef Chura, Bully, Varsity and fellow Bostonians Palehound she released two EPs under the moniker Baby!, the second of which, 2018's outstanding Sunny F.L., earned her national attention and saw her marked out as a promising young songwriter by publications like FADER and Stereogum.

The album is entitled Coasting, and will be released on Brooklyn indie Kanine Records on March 13th. Honeycutt sites her Florida upbringing as an important influence on her music, and while the warmth of her home state's climate might be in evidence in the pristine, c86-adjacent jangle of the album's lead single and the waterfront setting of the accompanying video, the song longs for a different kind of holiday than those typically associated with the Sunshine State.

"Vacation is about having autonomy and not being dependent on others for your happiness," Honeycutt explains. "I think we have all been at the end of the rope with a person we wanted to depend on. Someone we wanted to be there for us. Sometimes you just have to let it go and do your own thing."
