Veps releases "Ballerina (Norah)" on the eve of their UK tour

On the eve of their inaugural UK tour, Oslo’s next big exports Veps are back with a shimmering, new single Ballerina (Norah). Veps have great ambitions for 2002, which includes dropping their debut full length, but for now, the teenage foursome is pleased to share this “cheerful, yet bitter-sweet song about being blown away by the flaws of the people you hold close.” It’s a follow up to last year’s blistering single His Brother, and while it showcases a more vulnerable side, it’s still packed with emotion and the indelible, pop hooks we’ve come to expect from Veps. Watch the […]

Hoorsees releases new single Jansport from A Superior Athlete out Apr 22

Hoorsees releases second new single from upcoming “A Superior Athlete” continuing their whimsical exploration of pop culture touchstones and everyday absurdities, name checking Modest Mouse, Pavement, Rush Hour, Yu-gi-oh cards and of course, Jansport. Previous clip for single Week-end at Bernie’s saw the band head into the great outdoors to take on golfing. With Jansport they head into a bright, huge gym for a not so leisurely game of badminton. Tallies shares new clip for Wound Up Tight

Toronto-based Tallies shares "Wound Up Tight" – which arrives with a video directed by Christopher Mills – and b-side, "Heaven's Touch" which will make up a mini-EP alongside last year's single, "No Dreams of Fayres". "Wound Up Tight" continues to deliver on the promises that Tallies debut record outlined pulling on the shoegaze/dream-pop tropes of Lush, The Sundays, The Smiths, etc, placing laser-focused guitar lines below washes of synth and electronics. The accompanying video helps bring to life some of the rushing soundscapes, marrying them with stuttering camera shots depicting car journeys. On "Wound Up Tight" singer Sarah Cogan explains: "This song is about being stuck in a constant rotating vicious […]
